Past Deadline: January 1st, 2016
The landmark Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act (MMRSA), which establishes the Bureau of Medical Marijuana Regulation under the Department of Consumer Affairs, had it's first big deadline January 1st, 2016. The act seeks to establish and categorize the types of licenses which will be made available to entities in the medical marijuana industry; the categories include: cultivation, manufacturing, testing, dispensary or retail, distribution, and transportation.
The MMRSA states “in issuing licenses, the licensing authority shall prioritize any facility or entity that can demonstrate to the authority’s satisfaction that it was in operation and in good standing with the local jurisdiction by January 1, 2016.”
If you intend to preserve your right to priority licensing, contact us immediately so that we can assess your business’ compliance needs.
